Guys, I'd like to propose canceling this week. Heavy rains will be leading to high waters at my house due to a massive melt that will occur. I'd rather not be away from home so I can be there to make sure shit is off the floor if the water gets high enough.

That might be for the best. Your place is a little above that stream but I've seen how high it can get at times. If you even feel the need to build a levee or some other water barrier, I'll help since I imagine you may have troubles if we get enough constant heavy rain.

I just might take you up on that this spring or summer. I want to build the banks up pretty good and possible mortar sections of it.

I just like practical construction. The work feels very rewarding as you see something come together as it get built.

Yeah, its part of why I wanted to buy a house. I like being able to just go outside and tinker with the lawn. Cleaning up the woods and building stone walls is fun to me and good exercise.
